Glossary of Terms: SAN Storage
Definition: SAN stands for storage area network. SANs is a network of storage devices shared by servers. It provides block-level storage that can be accessed by the applications running on any networked servers. Traditional failover clusters require shared storage (typically SAN) so that in the event of a failover the secondary cluster node has access to the same, up-to-date data as the primary node.
