In this webinar, Microsoft MVP in Clustering, David Bermingham describes how to use Windows Server Failover Clustering to provide high availability and disaster protection for SQL Server. This presentation begins with an overview of the basics of WSFC and how they work.

Dave also gives practical advice on understanding your configuration options and answers common WSFC questions, such as: What are the benefits and drawbacks of traditional SAN-based clusters? What is a SANLess cluster and how do I build one? What are the best practices for using WSFC to ensure disaster recovery protection?

David’s work as director, Technical Evangelist at SIOS Technology Corp., has him focused on evangelizing Microsoft high availability and disaster recovery solutions as well as providing hands on support, training and professional services for cluster implementations.

Dave hold numerous technical certifications and draws from more than twenty years of experience IT, including work in the finance, healthcare and education fields, to help organizations design solutions to meet their high availability and disaster recovery needs. David has recently begun speaking on deploying highly available SQL Servers in the Azure Cloud and deploying Azure Hybrid Cloud for disaster recovery.

Tony joined Oracle through the acquisitions of Sun Microsystems and Aduva, Inc., where he served as the lead Sales Engineer / Technical Account Manager and played a critical role in product adoption and evolution. Tony holds a BS in Computer Science from California Polytechnic (Cal Poly) State University, San Luis Obispo.
