Special Offer For Microsoft MVPS – Free DataKeeper!

February 11, 2018 by Jason Aw Leave a Comment

For the MVPs out there

I just got the word that this is official and we are ready to ship software…

SIOS Technology is pleased to offer Microsoft MVP Community a fully functional two NFR copies of SteelEye DataKeeper Cluster Edition (DKCE).  DKCE enables SANless failover clustering solutions using any local attached storage. It enables high speed and highly available SMB 3.0 storage solutions for SQL Server and Hyper-V.

Common use cases of DKCE include SAN-less SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances using local high speed storage solutions like Fusion-io or even building clusters in the public cloud.  Another exciting possibility is highly available file servers on Windows Server 2012 for robust SMB 3.0 storage solutions for Hyper-V or SQL Server without having to purchase a shared SAS Array or SAN. Once again, you can take advantage of the blazing speeds possible with SSD or local flash based storage without sacrificing any availability. Be the first kid on your block to migrate your Hyper-V and SQL Server to SMB 3.0 and take advantage of faster failovers and easier storage management.

Simply email datakeeper-mvp@us.sios.com  to learn how to get started with DataKeeper Cluster Edition!

MVPs grab your copy today and let me know what you think. The forum has invited you! I am monitoring the forum and I look forward to your feedback!

June 18, 2015: Live Webinar: Implementing a SANLess SQL Server Cluster in Under an Hour – Presented by MVP Kendal Van Dyke

June 5, 2015 by Margaret Hoagland Leave a Comment

Join Kendal Van Dyke as he shares how to migrate a replication distributor from a standalone instance to a clustered instance in under an hour.

Drawing from real world experience, Kendal’s use case is a company that needed to implement a failover cluster to protect their SQL Server replication distributor and the applications that rely on it during a strict one-hour window – and without causing disruption to ongoing business processes or slowing performance. Kendal describes the customer’s HA needs, options and why a SIOS SANLess cluster was the solution of choice.

Understanding the truths and myths of HA and DR in cloud deployments can dramatically reduce data center costs and risks

Dave Bermingham, MS Cluster MVP
Sr. Technical Evangelist
SIOS Technology Corp.

Gartner predicts that the bulk of new IT spending by 2016 will be for cloud platforms and applications and that nearly half of large enterprises will have cloud deployments by the end of 2017. The benefits of the cloud may be clear for applications that can tolerate brief periods of downtime, but for critical applications like SQL Server, Oracle and SAP, companies need a strategy for HA and DR protection. While traditional SAN-based clusters are not possible in these environments, SANless clusters can provide an easy, cost-efficient alternative.

In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, David Bermingham, Director, Technical Evangelist at SIOS Technology, will discuss the truths and myths of HA and DR in cloud deployments, which can dramatically reduce data center costs and risks.
